My name is Heath, and I am based in Melbourne. I began my wood working journey in early 2020 after finding myself with some extra time on my hands and in need of replacing my wife’s birthday gift.
Using the tools, I rarely touched before and some reclaimed wood we had around the house, I created my first ornamental woodwork piece. My wife loved her gift however, I think I enjoyed the process of building it even more and have continued making pieces part time ever since.
Being a self-taught wood worker, using reclaimed wood I now continue to craft pieces inspired by geometric patterns with a Shou Sugi Ban finish. I find this finish brings out the grain and adds dimension that ensures every piece I make is truly one of a kind.
I continue learning with each piece I make and enjoy the process of challenging myself with different patterns and styles.
I hope you like my work and if interested in your own custom Woodchuckin for yourself get in touch and we can discuss how to go beyond for you.
